EURECA-PRO Seminar in Brussels united European key players in SDG12
12th of June 2024 | Brussels, Belgium
The UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 12 was at the heart of discussions during the EURECA-PRO seminar on June 12, which took place in Brussels.
Speakers from the EURECA-PRO consortium, alongside representatives from the European Commission and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization, and Associated Partners, used the occasion to discuss EURECA-PRO’s role as a key player for SDG12.
The event was the first building block for interdisciplinary and intercultural cooperation, bringing together major players in the industrialisation of Europe. The aim of this seminar was to provide an inclusive platform for interdisciplinary dialogue, bridging the gap between EURECA-PRO stakeholders and representatives from European and international institutions. At its core, the seminar aimed to cultivate vibrant ecosystems in the realms of research, innovation, and education.
Guest speaker Christophe Yvetot, UNIDO (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) Representative to the European Union, talked about the importance of cooperation with EURECA-PRO’s partners, particularly in exchanges of expertise, assistance with decision-making and capacity building. He furthermore emphasised UNIDO’s contribution to #SDG12 through promoting green industries, boosting energy efficiency in industry, advancing circular economy approach and enhancing sustainable energy practice.
EURECA-PRO, in collaboration with European partners, is deeply committed to advancing education, research, innovation, and science with and for citizens at both the European and global levels in the field of Responsible Consumption and Production, aligned with the United Nations SDG 12 targets.
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all speakers and guests for their inspiring contributions.
