Marek Pawełczyk, Rector-Elect of the Silesian University of Technology
On April 23, 2024, Marek Pawełczyk was elected the Rector of the Silesian University of Technology, securing 232 out of 295 valid votes from the Electors.
Prior to his election as Rector, Professor Marek Pawełczyk, PhD, DSc, served as the Vice Rector for Science and Development. He is affiliated with the Faculty of Automatic Control, Electronics, and Computer Science, where he leads the Department of Measurements and Control Systems. Additionally, he has held the position of Deputy Director for Didactics at the Institute of Automatic Control.
Professor Pawełczyk is a corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and participates in four ministerial teams. He also chairs the Silesian Universities Network and is a long-standing, highly esteemed board member of the European Universities Initiative EURECA-PRO.
