For us, EURECA-PRO is not only an idea, it is an ideal. We want to reach people all over Europe with our initiative and vision – improving and promoting responsible consumption and production to help create a better future. To achieve this, we rely on our core values: global networking, public benefit and modern education.
How exactly we contribute to each and every one’s daily lives can best be described by the many scientists that are part of EURECA-PRO.
But our inter-European alliance also wants to fosters solution-oriented approaches to social cohesion and responsible citizenship.
We also want to be a role model for civic engagement because change may start small but only together can we have the lasting impact on policy and society that is needed for permanent improvements.
A first step in this direction is to inform citizens about our research. We know that sometimes scientific findings can be hard to understand. Therefore, we want to encourage interaction and explain our results at eye level – be it via social media, in videos, at open science events or public talks. The more science is understood, the better the message can spread. We want to install in every citizen the confidence that a better and greener future is achievable. In the end our goal is to motivate people to become active on their own.
