It is time to clean up!
You know the drill: a plastic bag here, a bottle cap there – we regularly find litter where it doesn’t belong. Luckily, spring is just around the corner in many European countries – and with it the traditional spring cleaning. With the increased awareness for a clean environment, this tradition has found its way into many cities – including Mittweida, one of EURECA-PRO’s locations in Germany.
As part of its integrated concept for climate protection, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences established its own Think Tank “Green Office”, which organised the second Campus Cleanup initiative on 25th of March.
More than 20 volunteers, including students and staff, lent a helping hand and cleaned up the campus to benefit the flora and fauna.
From local initiatives to degree programmes
While members of the university from the fields of research, teaching, learning, and administration regularly come together to initiate such local projects that foster a healthy environment, Mittweida University of Applied Sciences has made climate and sustainability key areas of education and research. Prospective students can therefore find degree programmes in different academic disciplines, above all the Bachelor’s programme in electrical engineering with specialisation in responsible consumption and production (RCP).
