PhD Journey at
Montanuniversität Leoben and Hasselt University

From November 24 to 29, Montanuniversität Leoben and Hasselt University welcomed 38 PhD students from different EURECA-PRO partner universities.

Students from Poland, Spain, Greece, Austria, Germany, Belgium, France and Romania joined local researchers to explore diverse topics, from sustainable materials and production, to equity and inclusion in organisations and came together for an unforgettable week of mobility, collaboration, and learning at Hasselt University and Montanuniversität Leoben!

Highlights of the week included lectures and workshops, lab visits, as well as cultural programme. In Hasselt PhD students had the chance to visit ECOTRON – Centre for Environmental Sciences (CMK) – as well as attending a cultural programme, including a city tour in Hasselt and a crash course in the Flemish language. In Leoben, PhD students where taking part in a city and campus tours as well as visited the newly openend Hydrogen and Carbon Centre as well as the mining research centre “Zentrum am Berg” in the Austrian mountains. Additionally, students had the opportunity to meet their mentors and to discuss their research projects.
