Training tools for megatrend scientific framework and Methodology
Action Area 1: New European Open Research Area
Milestone 8 @ Deliverable 4.2 | WORK PACKAGE 4 – Science and Innovation Based Life-Long Learning
Technische Universität Bergakademie Freiberg
Summary:
In the context of Deliverable 4.2. “Training tools for megatrend scientific framework and Methodology” for the design and set-up of research projects for Science and Innovation Based Life-Long Learning Megatrends as a strategy for innovation in research have been identified within the consortium and in education in general.
As a follow up to this deliverable in this milestone the topic of research excellence and the tools for skill development have been extended. For that the following Megatrends were put into consideration and further links for that trend, Tools and Training courses have been organized in a kind of factsheet.
- Life Cycle Analysis (or Life Cycle Assessment)
- Environmental Footprint
- Energy Efficiency
- “Design for” Recycling, Environment, etc.
- Stakeholder Analysis
- ESG (Environment, Social, Governance)
- Citizen Science
All of the information provided are either free of charge or require registration so it can be used from researchers as a resource to find action points for their own research and where to find competitive resources. Scientists need to be empowered to act according to the requirements of Responsible Consumption and Production and they need to be aware of the main megatrends. This helps to develop a common strategy for innovation in research and new scientific knowledge is of utmost importance for the sustainability of any university and especially for a European University.
Whereas the D4.2. provided recommendations for training courses the Milestone 8 provides precise help in form of a toolkit where researchers can find resources to master research excellence and be independent on resources at their own university. The provided Excel-File is representing the following topics from where researchers can choose: Analytics, Communicating Science, Data and Literature Management, Development of Methods, Digital Storytelling, Diversity, Open Science, Research & Innovation Funding, Research Ethics, Research Security, Stakeholder needs, Transversal Skills for PhD Students, Visual Literacy and Writing Skills
These topics can be discovered through Links of different provided publications in Journals, Education platforms (with specific relevant courses), Online Modules and Handbooks.
