Summer School | Functional Materials Engineering:
Sustainable and Responsible Production Technologies
18th to 22nd September 2023 | University of Hasselt | Diepenbeek
The aim of this Summer School is to dive into printing and coating technologies for the sustainable development of functional coatings and printed (bio-)sensor applications. It is a blended programme consisting of a 5-day Summer School in Diepenbeek and online project work in heterogeneous project teams, which will culminate in an online presentation session of the developed project and application ideas.
The Summer School will cover the entire value chain from material synthesis and ink formulation, through printing and coating technologies for functional coatings and printed (bio-)sensors, to final applications.
In order to have a good mix of knowledge transfer and hands-on lab work and experience, we plan 5 days of lectures by experts in the field and lab sessions consisting of demo sessions and own work. After the on-site part, groups of 4-6 students will be formed who will collaborate online after the end of the Summerschool to define an application case that will be included in a project proposal to be presented and defended in the following months. Upon completion, participants will receive 3 ECTS.
